Dandy is a tri-factored sable rough collie. He is confident, attentive, calm, loving, and very biddable and eager to please. He is very calm in the house, and loves to be petted and cuddled by adults or children. He is a *leaner*! He gets very excited and happy about training and really enjoys learning new things and being useful!

Dandy has strong herding instinct, but has never bothered or hurt any of our free-range chickens or turkeys, even as a puppy. He patrols the property regularly, and since he came to our farm we have had no losses due to predators. Before he was here, the local bobcat was taking our chickens and turkeys in broad daylight. He rarely barks.

At the 2009 Collie Club of America Western Regional Herding Trial in August, 2009, Dandy got his "PT" (pre-trial) AKC herding title! He was handled by his herding instructor, Nancy Ward, who owns the herding facility Brigand's Hideout, where the trial was held.

Dandy has beautiful structure and a perfect scissors bite. He has a moderate coat which is coarse and weather-resistant.
